The Engagement Manager (EM) leads the execution team for every engagement. She typically manages one or at times multiple engagements and drives end-to-end planning and execution of the engagements, working closely with the lead Consultant (C) and Associate Consultants (ACs) in the team. She is also expected to actively contribute and lead organization building activities within the firm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understand project overall problem; breakdown workstreams/modules into smaller pieces
- Lead and coach members on Engagement Planning process including creation of the research plan and formulation of hypotheses
- Review and finalize interview guides and workplan for the team
- Plan ahead, update Engagement Manager and manage output expectations
- Effectively brief / debrief team members, direct efficient flow of information within the team
- Assimilates all business insights for the engagement based on engagement findings, client/industry context, and prior experience
- Interact with client POC and key external experts, other sources
- Monitor and ensure efficient documentation of findings
- Adhere to engagement plan, work plan and agreed upon timelines
- Regularly interact with Consultants/Engagement Director about data and/or other support activities required during an engagement
- Own and produce client-ready outputs; generate and translate insights into implementable plans relevant to the Client's situation
- Support effective delivery of outputs to the Client
Profile / expectations:
- MBA from a premier business school
- Post-MBA experience of at least 4 years
- Strong core consulting capabilities
- Problem-solving, Analysis, Output preparation
- Functional knowledge in areas such as strategy, operations, project management, business development, transactions/deals
- Domain expertise in any of our focus sectors preferred
- Team Management and Leadership strong inter-personal capabilities and ability to work with people across levels
- Strong relationship management capabilities with clients
- Strong written and verbal communications, especially in English; ability to communicate complex messages
