Position Overview:

As the Area Sales Manager for SME (Small and Medium Enterprises), you will be responsible for leading a team to drive sales and manage client relationships for our SME loan products.

Your role will involve sourcing proposals, appraising loan applications, overseeing the loan process, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

- Lead and motivate a team to achieve sales targets and operational goals.

- Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.

- Provide guidance and support to team members in their day-to-day activities.

Proposal Sourcing:

- Identify and source potential loan proposals through cold calling, client visits, and attending seminars/trade fairs.

- Develop and implement strategies to generate new business opportunities and expand the client base.

Loan Appraisal:

- Evaluate and appraise loan proposals, assessing the viability and risk associated with each business.

- Prepare detailed reports highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each proposal.

Loan Process Management:

- Oversee the entire loan process from approval to disbursement, including legal documentation and compliance.

- Ensure timely and accurate processing of loan applications and disbursements.

Client Relationship Management:

- Monitor and manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any issues or concerns.

- Track and manage payment schedules to ensure timely repayments.

Partnership Development:

- Partner with financial institutions and other organizations to enhance client service and business opportunities.

- Explore and establish new partnerships that align with business objectives.

Client Communication:

- Understand client needs and design effective communication strategies.

- Develop and deliver presentations and proposals tailored to client requirements.

Product Design and Benchmarking:

- Collaborate with the Head of SME to design and refine products that meet market and client needs.

- Conduct competitor analysis and product benchmarking to stay competitive in the market.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

- Maintain and manage positive relationships with all stakeholders through effective client servicing.

- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

- An MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

- Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the financial services or SME sector.

- Strong understanding of SME loan products, financial analysis, and credit appraisal.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
