- The role will focus on driving sales, building strong relationships with retail partners, and expanding market presence across general trade (traditional retail outlets) and modern trade (organized retail formats).
- The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both sales channels, excellent communication skills, and the ability to strategize and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
General Trade:
- Develop and execute sales strategies for general trade channels to achieve sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and traditional retailers.
- Regularly visit retail outlets to monitor product availability, stock levels, and merchandising standards.
- Collaborate with distributors and retailers to ensure timely product delivery and address any supply chain issues.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within general trade channels.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends, and report findings to management.
Modern Trade:
- Develop relationships with key accounts in the modern trade segment, including large retail chains, supermarkets, and hypermarkets.
- Negotiate trade terms, pricing, and promotions with modern trade partners.
- Ensure product visibility and implement effective merchandising strategies within organized retail stores.
- Plan and execute promotional activities in collaboration with marketing teams to drive sales in modern trade.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the supply chain to ensure continuous product availability.
- Track performance against sales targets and provide regular reports on modern trade sales performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG, retail, or consumer goods.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets in both general and modern trade channels.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build long-term relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to market changes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel as required.
