Statement of purpose:
To direct the sales function within an area assigned, in a branch/Head Office of the company, with the larger objective of ensuring that the Sales and market share of the Company is expanding. The Area Sales Manager along with his team of Assistant Managers has the responsibility for primary sales, i.e. achieving the market share and volumes in the assigned area.

- To ensure proper S & D coverage of the assigned area via distributors and frontline salesforce and assistant manager and to ensure the availability of fresh stock at the Wholesale Distributor's (WD) end, for which the jobholder is required to ensure the rotation of stock after a defined period.
- To Appoint Whole Sales Distributors using market and financial knowledge and establish Distributor norms to enable secondary sales(Beats, Coverage, Frequency, etc.)
- To activate Dealer Channel and private Salesman/Hawkers channels
- To manage Key Accounts and Modern Trade outlets, as assigned
- To ensure visibility through proper display of merchandising material and through continuous field activities.
- To collect market feedback and competition feedback for better operational strategy and for Head office information by compilation of data from frontline salesforce, channel partners, and via surveys conducted in the Market.
- To continuously develop Company's sales team and the sales team of the distributor by providing and sharing information on the Company as well as competition & by Training them from time to time
- To continuously motivate the distributors to increase sales volume and increase sales, by maintaining healthy and working relations with them.
- To organise and co-ordinate various field activities and direct implementation of marketing strategies developed by the Head office or Superiors.
