Architect / Individual Contributor

We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated Professional for an Individual Contributor role with our client at Pune.

Our client is a venture backed, established software product company based in Mountain View, CA, USA. Their domain is Business Process Management /Business Intelligence. They are currently focused on a budgeting and sales planning application. This application is offered as a subscription service (SAAS model) .

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

These positions are ideal for candidates who; having built software products earlier; want to continue being hands on in software development and like to work in a flexible technology centric environment with low overhead of meetings and process

Skills & Experience

- 10 or more years of hands-on experience in software product development; at least a few years in Web application development. Expertise should include:

- Core Java with one or more server side frameworks

- Comfort in dealing with typical database issues as they arise with respect to application development.

- Web client technologies (HTML/CSS; core JavaScript); JavaScript libraries like ExtJS or jQuery

- Appreciation of good architecture and the discipline to develop software using common sense good practises.

- Nice to have: exposure/expertise to Perl; Test frameworks, Oracle skills, exposure to US accounting and budgeting concepts; Web Services

As you can see, we need well rounded seasoned developers rather than specialists
Soft Skills

- Work independently; self starter; keeping in mind most of the team is at a remote location

- Able to write/review decent functional specs/test plans as needed

- Work in an unstructured environment

- Be somewhat flexible about work timings. We rarely have meetings but there are occasions when staying up late to attend reviews/engineering meetings/talking to engineers in the US may be needed. Skype is our lifeline. Working from home as needed is perfectly acceptable. We almost never need to work weekends

- Pragmatic and a decision taker - the person has to speak up and not be passive given the distributed team structure
