Job Purpose :
As part of the Global Engineering Services team, WWOps Analytics person will be responsible for applying analytical methods and tools to optimize operations to ensure the most efficient service levels to other departments and locations. Includes a concentrated focus helping drive out unnecessary work (Muda), improve and simplify processes and continually reduce costs and improve efficiency and effectiveness. This position will be jointly responsible for operating and maintaining operations information in all systems for the company and will assist the leader of WWOps in developing reports to continuously improve operational areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Analyze statistical data and reports to identify areas for continuous improvement. Sample areas include :
a. Ensure warehouses are laid out for maximum efficiency.
b. Ensure accurate product information is maintained in the database and at local levels.
c. Work on assigned projects as directed by Directors.
d. Rationalize and design reports to help decision making on make versus buy, and factory demand assignment
e. Conduct exploratory analysis to find patterns and relationships between (say) schedule churn and (say) on time shipment
2. Provide strategic leadership and build capability through coaching and development on the company's overall business model, goals and objectives.
3. Work with leadership team to continuously foster a positive work environment, develop employees and establish the organization as a premier employer.
4. Conform with, abide by, and re-enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures, and processes.
Education and Experience :
1. Bachelor's/ Master's Degree preferred
2. Direct experience with operations fields such as production planning, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research preferred.
3. Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
4. Useful computer skills Querying Language (SQL, Hive, Pig), a scripting Language (Python, MATLAB), a Statistical Language (R, SAS, SPSS).
5. Good communication skills and ability to transfer knowledge
6. Ability to understand business and contextualize the solution to articulate in appropriate terms
7. Capability to comprehend complex problems and visualize solutions
8. Designing & developing prototypes/PoC/PoT
9. Basic statistics and quantitative aptitude
