About Ankur Capital :

Ankur Capital is a SEBI registered early stage VC fund investing in exciting, pioneering startups. These startups have innovative solutions to leverage emerging technologies/new business models to tap the huge opportunities in addressing under-served markets in the areas of agriculture, education & skill development, healthcare and rural access . We don't just provide seed capital, but work closely with our investee companies to help solve their critical business problems and scale up operations. Ankur's manages $10 million and is looking to grow this into a series of funds to manage $100 million dollars in assets in the next few years.

The Opportunity :

The role offers a unique opportunity for a young, entrepreneurially-oriented professional to play a critical role in identifying and driving success of young companies fueled by innovative ideas, big ambitions and high levels of energy - and thus play a catalytic role in driving India's future. The Senior Associate will be a key driver of the portfolio management activity at Ankur Capital, responsible for business analysis and supporting management of the portfolio companies. Given the current structure and work culture at Ankur Capital and the organization's growth plans, the Senior Associate will be on a steep learning curve and enjoy a high level of responsibility. He/she will have significant potential for growth towards a principal-level engagement within Ankur Capital, as we build out our own footprint through launch of new funds and establish other associated entrepreneur support services.

Responsibilities :

- Providing high touch support and value-add to our portfolio companies; coordinating the efforts of the multi-functional Ankur team to deliver critical business outcomes at these companies

- Defining and establishing systems/process to add-value across the portfolio and scale the impact of Ankur Capital

- Supporting the sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities and transaction closure

- Support GPs in portfolio strategy, investment analysis and research and general contribution to fund level thinking and strategy

Requirements :

- Our chosen candidate is one who has proven himself/herself as an exceptional performer in his/her area of work experience and possesses the critical skill sets and attributes required to deliver success in the startup ecosystem. He/she should have;

- A minimum of two years of experience at a top financial investment firm in a role related to portfolio management

- Familiarity/exposure to the process for evaluating and closing new investments

- A keen analytical mind, with strong attention to detail

- A problem solving attitude, with the ability to handle complexity and bring in structure in situations with a high degree of flux

- A pleasing personality, with a flair for managing interpersonal relationships within the firm and the portfolio companies

- A natural interest and a desire to build a career in the world of business/investing
