About Ankur Capital :

Ankur Capital is a SEBI registered Venture Capital fund investing in exciting, pioneering startups. These startups have innovative solutions to build businesses around the huge opportunities in addressing underserved markets in the areas of agriculture, education & skill development, healthcare and rural business services. We don- t just provide seed capital, but work closely with our investee companies to help solve their critical business problems and scale up operations. Ankur manages $10 million and is looking to grow this in a series of funds to manage $100 million dollar fund.

The opportunity :

As Marketing and Market Development you will define marketing strategy for an entire portfolio of companies. You will have a unique opportunity to work closely with a variety of organizations across sectors and in different stages of their evolution. A few years later, you can experience the magic of having created global brands, as the startups achieve success!

This role would involve working closely with the entrepreneurs on the life cycle of a brand - from product launch, to - go to market- and beyond. This will be across companies that have products and services in both B2B and B2C markets. The role will also look to build and work with external service providers to deliver against the strategy plan.

You will have significant potential for growth within Ankur Capital, as we build out our own footprint through launch of new funds and establish other associated entrepreneur support services. This role is expected to eventually grow and head a team to deliver these services to a large number of startups. This will be an entrepreneurial venture within Ankur Capital. It also offers an exciting opportunity to participate in the emerging entrepreneurship ecosystem and invest in companies that will drive India's inclusive growth story.

Responsibilities :

- Define the brand vision and marketing strategy for Ankur's portfolio companies in conjunction with the CEO's

- Drive the delivery and monitoring of the marketing plan within the companies.

- Identify and coordinate with external agencies to deliver marketing activities against marketing plans

- Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing plan to all stakeholders. The role requires laser like focus on long term growth and sales results

- Work creatively to deliver results with start-up budgets

- Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.

Requirements :

- 2-5 years experience in defining and delivering marketing plans

- Handled product launches

- Experience with low cost BTL activities/rural marketing will be an added advantage

- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to influence decision making to deliver results

- Networks with external partners to deliver against marketing plans

- Self starting, extremely ambitious, ready to make a mark

- Highly energetic and willing to get hands dirty.

- Should be willing to travel pan India .. including rural India

- A person who can deal in both structured and highly unstructured environments
