Analyst – Market Intelligence
MIX is seeking an Analyst for its Market Intelligence product to build and deliver insight on microfinance markets around the globe in partnership with MIX’s global team of analysts, partners and MFIs. MIX’s unique information platform, MIX Market (www.mixmarket.org), is the leading source for financial and social performance data on microfinance institutions across the globe. MIX launched its market intelligence products in 2011 to support business users requiring in-depth, updated knowledge on major microfinance markets, their actors and the events that shape them. The current product offering includes country briefings, updates on quarterly trends and market forecasts for select markets.
The Analyst will support the creation and delivery of the market intelligence offering in close collaboration with MIX Market Intellegence Lead and MIX’s regional analyst team. The ideal candidate will have a background in country analysis in banking, ratings, financial services, or at a public policy think tank or experience in research and analytics roles from consulting firms. Success in this role will be measured by the breadth, depth and quality of the market intelligence products, based on available resources.
Responsibilities
The Market Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for supporting the analysis and delivery of MIX’s Market Intelligence offering as part of its premium services, including:
1. Managing the pipeline of Market Intelligence products for various markets, keeping analysts and managers aware of the pipeline status
2. Working with the regional analysts to develop and finalize their country briefings and quarterly updates, by:
a. Helping refine ideas for each report
b. Supporting templates and other tool development
c. Reviewing and providing feedback on draft analysis
d. Finalizing analysis to deliver a product that is standard across all analysts and markets
3. Running quarterly market surveys and compiling data for market forecasts
4. Managing online content delivery
Working relationships
The Market Intelligence Analyst will work with the Market Intelligence Lead for the development of the market intelligence offering and with the regional analysts and managers to develop and deliver the product for each market covered.
Qualifications and skills
1. Minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant analyst or consulting position
2. Strong preference for experience in a consulting, research, banking or public policy think tank organization
3. Excellent quantitative skills (e.g. Excel models)
4. Superior written and verbal communication skills in English
5. Excellent attention to detail for delivery of client-ready products
6. Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
7. Excellent teamwork skills
8. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Remuneration
Salary commensurate with qualifications and range for the position.
