Analyst - Global Investment Research

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

GIR - Produces fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies, and economics, which drive much of both the day to day and the long term commercial business for the firm. The majority of the division is focused upon equity research, which is organized largely into industry sector teams. The sector teams work together on a global basis to analyze the companies and stock.

Business Analyst role Overview:

- The role of the BA based in India is to act as a support to analyst teams with the focus of compiling, summarizing, and analyzing market based data. The idea is to focus on the repeatable quantitative tasks initially as well as developing more value added proprietary products for the team over time (i.e. move up the value chain as earned).

RESPONSIBILIITES

- Build & Maintain basic models (for both covered and not covered companies)

- Market share, macro trend, and cross company and sub sector data analysis

- Company specific projects

- Statistical analysis of economic data, fundamentals, and relevant correlations of the data

- Listen to and produce briefing notes on comparative companies’ conference calls not covered by the team

- Update monthly reports, marketing book, and weekly shells

- Update and maintain daily valuation sheets

- Check through annual reports for discrepancies/additional data

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

- MBA

- Competence in Finance

- Work Experience: 1-2 years

- Ability to work in a dynamic global environment with a focus on teamwork

- A proactive approach and a high level of enthusiasm

- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access), Macros

- Experience preparing models and using online research data tools

- Ability to meet strict, aggressive deadlines

- Investment research experience is an added advantage
