Overall purpose of role:

The role is within the EFS Team supporting New York and London. The purpose of this role is to assist the trading, structuring and marketing team in delivering solutions to clients in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

Key specific accountabilities :

Work with the Structuring desk to Stress Test and Back Test various structured products

Provide assistance to the trader on various activities like checking for events on the trade, ensuring documents of the trade are updated

Pricing structured products and calculating the expected value of such trades

Keeping an eye on the market trends and pitching new trade ideas to the desk and sales team in the regions

Trade Lifecycle Management- Making sure that the data for the trades/strategies is maintained. Work with IT team to add vols/missing correlations etc.

Develop analytical tools using Excel/Visual Basic, working closely with the Desk and Technology.

Work with VP, Directors and Managing Directors in New York and London

Stakeholder management and leadership.

The candidate would have to interact with counterparts in New York and London. The candidate would have to work with the regional teams to understand the requirements, work with them to develop the new products and work on enhancements.

Decision making and problem solving.

Strong analytical skills - The candidate will have to work with regional teams to understand the requirements. The candidate will have to come up with solutions to implement those requirements. They will have to discuss any new changes with the teams in New York and London.

The candidate will have to work on their own to come up with solutions for the desk.

Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include :

Strong knowledge of derivatives

Good communication skills as the role involves regular interaction with stakeholders

Strong co-ordination skills to manage multiple tasks

Good Programming skills including Excel/VBA are an added benefit

Eye for Detail - Need to make sure all corporate actions are incorporated. Any missing prices are update

Flexible to work long hours when required

Excellent communication skills (oral/written) as the candidate would have to work with Onshore teams globally. They would have to speak to the traders. In addition they would have to work on Marketing Presentations which would require good written/presentation skills

Analytical Skills

Aptitude for self learning - Should be able to demonstrate a self starting attitude

Proactive in nature. Should be able to take decisions and support those.
