Analyst - Data Science - Fintech Firm

Founded in December of 2015 and based in Mumbai, our client offers a payment solution that enables a Buy now, Pay later product for frequent online purchasers with a credit term of 14 days. This not only removes the hassle of entering credit card details repeatedly but also allows consumers to buy items in bulk and settle the payment when they have time on their hands.

Their primary focus is to leverage data science to solve real life challenges in ecommerce. The founders of the company include alumnus of IITs and IIMs who have extensive experience in the Finance and Consulting with companies like Accenture, Barclays, ICICI etc. Some prominent brands that have allied with them to offer this solution to customers include PVR, IRCTC - Indian Rail, Industrybuying.com, Tolexo, Crownit etc.

As a Data Science Analyst, You will be expected to :

- Undertake exploratory analysis of data to discover insights and trends or validate hypotheses

- Develop statistical, machine learning and econometric models in R, Python or Scala Implement improvements in models to automate the run process

- Support the identification, design and implementation of continuous improvement levers through data analytics to improve the product

- Dig in to the large data sets and develop analytical solutions that provide actionable insights that will support the product development team

- Work cross-functionally and support adhoc analyses to give a more structured shape, examine recent and historical data, identify salient trends, develop statistical models, and surface key insights

- Synthesize diverse, complex information to develop a compelling story with data and insights

Required :

- A degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related area or a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physical Sciences or Engineering that requires use of computational mathematics and/or statistical techniques

- 2+ years of experience as an analyst or modeler Expertise in Machine Learning

- 1 or more years of work experience in a similar role is a plus

- Strong analytical and appropriate coding skills necessary to develop and refine codes developed by others

- Good understanding of Python or R Strong technical skills with experience using relational databases

- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences, including senior management
