Analyst - Data Governance - Investment Banking Domain

As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will lead efforts to enhance and maintain the quality, governance, and documentation of data across our investment banking operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data assets are managed effectively and meet regulatory and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Management: Oversee and enhance data management practices, including data modeling, data integration, and metadata management.

Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.

Data Quality: Lead initiatives to monitor, measure, and improve data quality, including the establishment of data quality metrics and dashboards.

Data Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data management processes, data flows, and data lineage.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring data integrity and security.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that data management practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements, such as Basel III, MiFID II, and GDPR.

Technology Integration: Work with technology teams to integrate data management solutions with existing systems and platforms.

Training and Development: Provide training and support to data users and promote best practices in data management.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance data management capabilities.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.

Experience: 9-13 years of experience in data management, data governance, and data quality, with a focus on the investment banking domain.

Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of investment banking products, services, and regulatory environment.

Data Governance: Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies.

Data Quality: Strong expertise in data quality management, including data profiling, cleansing, and monitoring.

Documentation: Proficiency in creating detailed data management documentation, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage diagrams.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with data management tools and platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, IBM InfoSphere, or similar.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Project Management: Experience in leading and managing data management projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), or similar.

Financial Systems: Knowledge of financial data systems and platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar.

Advanced Analytics: Experience with advanced data analytics and reporting tools like SQL, Python, R, or Power BI.

Change Management: Experience in change management and driving cultural change in data governance practices.

Compliance Expertise: Familiarity with specific investment banking regulations and standards (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II).
