JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role is in the Sustainability Practice of a consulting firm.
It has a comprehensive set of sustainability assets, offerings and tools- from market analysis and strategy development through to implementing and managing a sustainability solution.
We help clients achieve high performance through solutions in four key strategic areas:
- Sustainability Valuation: How can I create value for my business & ensure a positive impact on society; then measure and communicate it
- Circular economy & resource effectiveness: How do I increase profitability and growth by doing more with fewer resources
- Trust, transparency & traceability: How can I trace materials and impacts, and promote transparency to differentiate and build brand trust
- Digital responsibility: What does it mean to be a responsible business in a rapidly evolving digital world
As an Analyst / Consultant you will be expected to:
- Identify value levers to measure the investments, returns etc. for specific sustainability initiatives
- Map - as is- and - to be- states for the client's target operating model
- Understand the basic concepts related to sustainability - resource effectiveness, digital responsibility etc.
- Be able to efficiently engage client on aspects related to Sustainability (such as emissions, renewable sources of energy, energy efficiency etc.) and assist in developing solutions for identified opportunities encompassing resource allocations, risk management, time/task analysis, and estimating factors
- Execute project management through both offshore / onsite delivery model (depending on project requirements)
- Ability to engage with client teams and client environment; facilitate resolution of key client issues
- Support client - buy-in- process
- Strengthen offerings - development of collateral, methodology refinements, best practices updates and trends tracking, create and support proposals incorporating value proposition.
- Incorporate best practices & development methodologies into every stage of the project management lifecycle.
Experience and qualifications required:
Specific experience will include:
- Strong academic background
MBA from a premier B-School (IIM A, IIMB, IIMC, IIMK, IIMI, IIML, ISB, FMS, XLRI etc.)
Engineering background (especially in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environment) would be preferred
- Other capabilities / experiences:
1 - 2 years of experience in projects related to building quantitative business models
Some experience of global sustainability issues (emissions, climate change action, resource constraints etc.)
Basic understanding of initiatives / actions undertaken by entities such as CDP, WEF, UNGC etc. would be a plus
Ability to research, gather, collate, analyze data to build compelling and tangible actions for the client
- Following would be additional preferences:
Understanding of concepts related to sustainability performance management (SPM), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Smart City concepts etc.
Some experience of working with international clients through offshore delivery model

- Should have an analytical bend of mind with capability of deciding on nature of information needed and the ability to derive business sense of such information.
- Should be able to think logically and present ideas convincingly.
- Initiative in keeping abreast of changing industry practices, analysis and design methods, tools and techniques and emerging technologies.
- Ability to develop & maintain working relationships with a number of stakeholders and senior professionals.
