About The Team :
The Global Financial Institutions Center (GFIC) team is a global, virtual, knowledge team with 140+ knowledge professionals across 15+ locations globally. We focus on research and analytics related to the financial services industry (i.e., Banking, Insurance, Asset management) and work closely with client service teams on client and proprietary knowledge projects.
Overview Of Role & Responsibilities :
- GFIC is looking for an Analyst to join as part of its specialized analytics team. In this role, the analyst would be expected to work most of his/her time with experts/ sr. experts in the GFIC team on client and proprietary knowledge assets.
Specifically, he/she will be expected to perform the following roles :
- Work with seniors in the GFIC team to manage and build models/ tools in Excel VBA/Access; specifically,
- Understand the business question and generate solution options
- Interact with team members to gather data and problem solve
- Build and iteratively refine the models in a continuously evolving and time constrained environment
- Actively seek coaching for her/himself.
- Actively participate in building team's knowledge and capability development.
Knowledge & Skills Required :
- We are looking for candidates who have a keen business sense and solid programming skills.
Skills required :
- Ability to quickly understand and appreciate underlying business context, problems and objectives of analytics projects
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
- Strong programming/algorithm skills
- Working knowledge of Excel/VBA/ Access
In addition, candidates must also possess the following hallmarks of excellent problem solving skills, team skills, entrepreneurial ability, and strong communication skills :
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in both written and spoken English; prior experience in a multi-national environment desirable.
- Energetic, cooperative and pleasant personality. Able to work with a diverse group of team members
- Flexibility, patience, and an understanding of fluid, demanding, and unstructured environments where priorities evolve constantly and methodologies are regularly challenged.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines
