American Express - Service Delivery Leader - Project Management/Consulting

Business Strategy Execution is a faced paced, strategic group, providing E2E Process Excellence, Business Strategy, Implementation and Analytics Products. The team provides consultative services to senior leaders across American Express focusing on improving internal processes, driving operational excellence and enabling growth.

Role Description:

- The Manager is a vital member of the team, supporting the team in thoughtful strategy, detailed planning, and disciplined execution of complex initiatives in order to deliver superior customer service and achieve strategic objectives.

- The successful candidate will have strong analytics, process design, and project implementation experience with an ability to proactively drive results.

- The role requires rigorous project management and organizational skills, including tracking activities and milestones, managing deliverables to deadlines, integrating activities across work streams, identifying key dependencies and surfacing risks and concerns as appropriate.

- The successful candidate will identify impactful business questions and interact with business stakeholders, while working and effectively supporting the Director proactively. They will synthesize relevant data and prior learnings to create high quality recommendations to present to senior leaders.

- 7+ Years of Project Management Experience desired

- Ability to translate overall business vision and objectives into tactical strategies and executable plans

- Strong self-starter with an ability to navigate successfully through ambiguity

- Passion for data & analysis, ability to understand complex data schemas and models and structure / summarize data into easy to use format for end users.

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to present solutions to complex business problems

- Talent in handling and synthesizing complex and diverse information

- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and partnering skills.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence geographically spread teams

- Strong work ethic with flexibility and adaptability to change

- Proven ability to proactively look and think ahead, going beyond obvious project needs

- Consultative experience preferred

- Shared/Financial Services experience preferred

- Bachelors Degree required. Masters in Business Administration and/ or Engineering or quantitative discipline with an emphasis on business applications is preferred
