Service Delivery Leader - American Express India Banking Corp
Job Description: This position is responsible for controllership & regulatory reporting activities for American Express Banking Corp. (- AEBC- ) India Branch. Incumbent will report to the AEBC India Controller in supporting the bank management, finance organizations, Board of Directors, internal and external auditors, and regulators (RBI, etc.). This position will require ongoing interaction with Treasury, LFO, Risk, Compliance, GCO, Internal/External Auditors and Regulators amongst other bank teams to finalize the reporting considerations and process required to enable a robust regulatory reporting framework.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position will primarily be responsible for regulatory reporting and monitoring requirements prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), interacting with the regulators on a day to day basis to respond to queries, implementing new reporting requirements, while continuing to monitor the accuracy and timeliness of ongoing reporting. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparation of India GAAP financial statement and notes to accounts, playing an integral role in achieving our goal to protect and assure the integrity of the financial statements, proactively eliminate controllable financial risk and exposure to the business, and regularly attest to the accuracy and effectiveness of financial reports and controls.
- Responsible for India GAAP & RAP accounting and reporting including preparation and review of annul India GAAP financial statements and disclosures
- Local regulatory reporting and filings to RBI
- Serving as point of contact and supporting audits/exams performed by internal, external auditors and regulators
- Impact assessment of new products, capabilities, campaigns etc on regulatory reporting.
- Responsible for regulatory reporting Process Risk Self Assessment (PRSA) refresh and testing.
- Operate in matrix environment, leading a team of three as direct leader while mentoring others in the larger team.
- Interpret and implement new regulations from RBI
- Be an engine driving and managing change with respect to regulatory reports

Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant from a premier institute, with 6 -8 + years of post qualification industry experience
- 3+ years India banking industry experience preferred
- Ability to work in dynamic environment.
- Ensuring high level of accuracy and timeliness
- Strong accounting background and the ability to interpret India GAAP, Regulatory circulars/ Regulation from RBI and American Express Accounting and Management Policies to practical application. Exposure to IFRS/IND AS preferred
- Understanding of balance sheet and analytical approach to interpretation
- Proven ability to effectively present to and interact with senior management, regulators, internal and external audit.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to share technical knowledge and proactively encourage others to do the same.
