Regional Head - West - Merchant Services
Candidate profile
This position is responsible for acquiring new merchants leading a large multi city team, driving intentional volumes from the new SEs by proactively servicing and enrolling them on specific programs.
Critical Success Factors
- Lead a large multi-city team towards meeting the Amex objective of parity coverage in the market
- Partner with Issuers ICSS, GNS, GCC in terms of integrating merchants to strengthen card value proposition
- Drive marketing platform programs and merchant activation programs in alignment with GNMI and ME team - Grow DBV through specific programs with relevant merchants - Recurring Billings, Merchant Bonus, IPG, etc
- Develop in-depth understanding of the marketplace
- Proactively conduct research and various data gathering activities, including networking and reading, to understand the market/industry, Amex's competition, and issues impacting the customer's business, use SMART reports extensively to acquire and retain large merchants.
- Develop in-depth understanding of the customer
- Place value on knowing all aspects of customer's business, including organizational structure, culture, and personalities
- Manage an effective pipeline of opportunities
- Identify potential opportunities against major business drivers
- Influence customer decisions - Work in partnership with the customer as a problem solver by clearly identifying the needs that will influence customer's - buying decision-
- Differentiate American Express value
- Maximize all interactions with the customer to demonstrate the unique value of American Express products and services to customer's specific needs.
- Build relationships for success - Apply continual improvement tactics to the internal and external relationship and processes

Qualifications
- Postgraduate with minimum of 10+ years- experience
- 3+ years- Experience of leading teams
- Experience in Customer, market, AMEX product knowledge
- Knowledge of competitive market place and industry practices
- Knowledge of AMEX merchant operating systems and information management systems - Conceptual and analytical thinking, Collaborating and influencing others
- Readily accessible to address portfolio changes / issues to the satisfaction of the merchant - Team player and effective at driving results
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility with external customers
- Adaptable to varying tasks according to account importance and / or size
- Use of quantitative data analysis to sell Value
- Coach to win
- Conduct Sales and value story trainings for the sales team - Compliance with Company Policies
