Function Description :
This position will be responsible for the data contribution policies and practices of American Express data to external third parties (e.g. Credit Bureaus), and repatriation principles, strategy, and compliant usage of third party data (i.e. Credit Bureau and Alternative Data), across the customer lifecycle for Japa and EMEA markets. The successful candidate will work closely with Business partners to drive transformation of our Third Party data strategy
Purpose of the Role :
- Managing Third Party Data strategy for JAPA and EMEA region
Responsibilities :
- Support new portfolio, product/feature launches; accelerate new data explorations and expansions with a global perspective
- Improve data-usage economics
- Drive scale globally with Business and Strategic partners for consumer and commercial
- Ensuring risks related to 3rd Parties, Partners & Legal Entities are managed in line with regulatory & AXP expectations
- Be execution-focused and have the ability to lead analytics, research, and capabilities development supporting regulated data (e.g.
credit bureau information) and non-regulated data (e.g. aggregated or vertically compiled) to support Change Management, Operational
Risk Events, and Strategic Decisions :
- Evaluating existing and new data sources to identify opportunities for customized and optimized data solutions that address business needs
- Partnering with our compliance and legal organizations to ensure all new developments are acceptable within the legal and regulatory framework of Credit Bureau reporting and credit monitoring
- Partner with technology and operational teams to ensure policy, operations and data systems are aligned

Qualifications :
Past Experience :
- 7+ years of credit, operational risk, risk management and/or information management experience
- The candidate should possess strong project management discipline, critical and strategic thinking, and strong communication skills; be analytically inclined and high will to dive into both numeric and financial details.
- A people leader focused on performance and development
- An internal and external relationship builder
- Strong data handling and ability to apply statistical / quantitative techniques and methods to drive business results. SAS or SQL expertise, a must
- Superior process, project and relationship management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate project scope in documentation and presentation format
Academic Background : Post Graduate in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering/Management
Technical Skills/Capabilities :
- Knowledge of SQL/SAS/HIVE
- Working knowledge of Credit Card business, Risk and Financial Management platforms is desired
Knowledge of Platforms :
- Knowledge of key capabilities like AR systems
- Understanding of Bureau related capabilities would be plus
