Purpose of the Role : The Director will work across leadership and teams to provide a deep understanding of internal processes to ensure we execute tagging effectively across American Express BUs. They will partner with key stakeholders across technology, analytics, marketing and product management to design, develop and deploy comprehensive tagging and tracking solutions for all digital paid media campaigns, analytics, chat, surveys, and any shared apps that operate as tags and collects data from users. This role also interfaces with colleagues in Analytics, Development and Account Services. The role ensures that the Tagging Solutions team is aligned with the needs of the business. The key is to work with leadership to develop a comprehensive tagging and tracking operation. Responsibilities : This role will oversee the continued enhancement, process, design, and delivery of our Tagging and Consent Management operations and development. You will lead a team of technical managers and data analysts to manage our analytics platform, govern data layer & 3rd party tagging configurations, and fortify compliance with consent management on all web properties, including mobile app. Critical Factors to Success : Excellent understanding of data layer concepts, data modeling, governance, digital analytics implementation, event handling methods via DOM event model Minimum Qualifications : Past Experience : - 5+ yrs experience leading digital eCommerce tag management solutions such as DTM/Launch, Ensighten, GA 360. - Experience of 5+ years as a program / project manager of complex web technologies Academic Background - BS in Computer Science or technical degree. MBA a plus Functional Skills : - Maintain tag management platforms, releases, enhancement to support the business and tech goals - Identify data quality issues and work to resolve those issues - Create and drive best practices for tagging standards and processes for all tagging of digital assets - Monitor and manage workload to optimize resources to deploy 3rd party tagging - Responsible for data and analytics implementation reporting for tagging and consent management - Track record of managing global enterprise technologies Technical Skills : - Design, build, test, monitor web data layer, tags, and pixels - Provide technical direction and leadership on design, development and testing of tagging and consent management platforms. - Support deployment of technical solutions for consent management related to regulatory requirements Knowledge of Platforms : - Hands on experience with behavioral analytics data platforms like Adobe or Google Analytics - Experience in Devops, Kanban or agile models using JIRA / Confluence - Excellent understanding of web technologies (html, react.js, node.js, CSS, javascript) - Master at tag managers (GTM, Tealium, Ensighten) Behavioural Areas : - Track record of shaping project and program strategy and roadmaps for web operations & compliance - Strong written communication skills and the ability to influence other teams - Develop and own project / process timelines for initiatives - Strong business acumen and judgement - American Express is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, age, or any other status protected by law. - Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
