Functional Description
The Risk Oversight organization within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express. We are seeking experienced Risk and compliance professionals who want to be a part of the evolution for the next generation of risk management.
Incumbent will be part of Enterprise Risk Management team, American Express, India within the GRC organization and will roll into the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) team of AEBC India. The incumbent will be help support the oversight of the AEBC India's Enterprise Risks, including Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Asset and Liability Management Risks, and Liquidity & Funding Risks. The incumbent will work with a team of risk professionals in India and will be responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on enterprise risks.
Key Responsibilities
Develop risk tolerance limits, and establish risk appetite metrics and escalation thresholds for all major risk types.
Review and provide an oversight of processes related to Treasury operations and conduct independent risk assessments for ICAAP /stress testing framework / capital and liquidity planning
Key stakeholder of Bank's Regulatory Change Management program and providing guidance/oversight to ensure controls implemented through regulatory projects meet regulatory requirements in letter and spirit
Academic Qualification
Advanced degree in economics, business, engineering, banking or a related field.
Experience Requirements
2-4 years of Regulatory Compliance /Treasury/ Risk management;
Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective;
Strong understanding of local market regulatory requirements and banking industry especially those pertaining to liquidity and market risk;
Technical Skills:
Sound knowledge of SAS/SQL/ Hive would be preferred.
Behavioural Skills
Excellent relationship and influence management skills with the ability to build productive relationships across leadership levels and teams;
Self-confident with a strong sense of integrity and the ability and willingness to challenge and be challenged;
Proactive in identifying issues, delivering and escalating key fin dings, and advising on recommended solutions to correct issues or mitigate risks;
Ability to communicate oversight findings to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders;
Strong verbal and written communication skills
