Functional Description
The Risk Oversight organization within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express.
We are seeking experienced Risk and compliance professionals who want to be a part of the evolution for the next generation of risk management.
Incumbent will be part of Enterprise Risk Management team, American Express, India within the GRC organization and will roll into the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) team of AEBC India. The incumbent will support in oversighting AEBC India's Enterprise Risks, including Credit Risk and Operational Risk. The incumbent will work with a team of risk professionals in India and will be responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on enterprise risks.
How will you make an impact in this role ?
- Responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account. Also they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.
- Support development of risk tolerance limits and establish risk appetite metrics and escalation thresholds for all major risk types focusing in particular on Credit and operational risk.
- Conduct data driven reviews of key processes across credit and operational risk of the Bank such as credit bureau reporting, reactive line increase, proactive line increase, new accounts etc.
- Support in providing effective oversight of the risk universe of the Bank and support development of policies, practices, and other control mechanisms to manage key enterprise risks.
- Support the creation of dashboards and other reporting tools for all major risk types for India and other international markets and provide regular updates to relevant committees of the Bank.
- Assist in reviewing, providing effective oversight and conducting risk assessments for credit risk Pillar including but not limited to financial reporting, operations and Fraud risks etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree in economics, business, engineering, banking or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in Credit risk/Risk management areas.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
- Strong understanding of local market regulatory requirements and banking industry.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
- Strong knowledge of SAS/SQL/Hive/Python/R would be preferred.
