Sr Product Manager   Job Description:  Amazon eCommerce Selection and Catalog Systems group at Amazon Chennai Center focuses on making direct impact on Selection for Amazon's Retail & 3rd party marketplace business across markets worldwide. This group owns end to end processes for discovering, prioritizing and adding new selection available to customers across different markets worldwide. This drives one of amazon's core focus areas: providing the widest selection to customers.  Product managers are involved in definition of product/service offering to enable selection expansion and identifying improvements to our offering to drive business impact (through improved customer experience and cost reduction in operational processes).  - They work closely with stakeholders across business, operations and technology teams to define / improve our product/service offering. They define policy changes, define new features and own programs by definition and execution of a plan by working with stakeholders.   We are looking for candidates with a background in understanding business/customer needs, translating them into feature requirements/process changes, and to drive execution of programs working with stakeholders across teams (Retail business, Operations, and Technology).  A successful candidate will have a developed skill set in the following areas:   - Demonstrate skills in developing business proposals, options and recommendations based on data and analysis. Prior experience in analysis which cuts across customer needs, business processes & metrics to identify improvement areas through process changes in operations and by rollout of new software features would be necessary.  - Conceptualize new business initiatives working with business stakeholders and scale business impact through effective planning, analysis of business and operational data metrics, and by driving execution with operations and technology team.  - Envision & prioritize product feature requirements based on business needs and operational dependencies. This would need exposure to:  a) software development lifecycle   b) analysis/understanding of business / operational processes.  - Experience in driving projects end to end by planning, effective written and oral communication, project tracking and by effective stakeholder management.  - Leadership skills supporting a culture of Ownership, Staying connected with details, Bias for action and Delivering results.  Basic Qualifications:  - MBA from a Premier Institute with 6+ years of experience of which a minimum 3 years is in interacting with global customers / stakeholders.  - Experience in translating business needs into detailed feature requirements, data analysis and business case development, and managing programs from concept to implementation.  - Prior experience in the capacity of a Product/program manager/business analyst/software engineer would be a key requirement.  - Ability to think both strategically and tactically and to drive execution. Should be equally comfortable with long term planning and day to day progress tracking and execution.   - Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast paced environment.  Preferred Qualifications:  - Experience in eCommerce/Hi-tech/Retail industry or management consulting with focus on one of these industries  - Background in analysis of large volume of data to drive analysis and to make decisions.
