Global Middle Office delivers control functions responsible for providing assurance over data and processes used to record risk, P/L, balance sheet and financial results in support of Global Markets, Corporate Treasury and Corporate Investments businesses. There are seven GMO core functions that are critical in ensuring business process control: New Business Development, Trade Capture Substantiation, P&L Validation, Risk/Position Validation, Balance Sheet Substantiation, Event Monitoring, and Front-Back Process Oversight.
Funding Value Adjustment (FVA) Middle Office

The FVA (Funding Value Adjustment) Middle Office Team is part of the Global Middle Office (GMO) Team. Due to the nature of FVA, its scope spans multiple asset classes, reflected in the interaction the FVA MO has with numerous Line of Business (LoB) trading and supporting teams.

Successful applicants will be expected to adapt to a steep learning curve; as their knowledge & understanding develops, they will be expected to challenge team procedures to continually improve our support model.

Responsibilities

- Liaise with Front Office to accurately capture hedge trading transactions and FVA Impact Activity to provide four-eye checks.

- Liaise with support partners (Documentations/Finance/Cash Settlements) teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

- Provide intraday and end-of-day checks and reconciliation to Front Office records to ensure complete daily records.

- Perform trade and position activity analysis and reporting.

- Implement improvements to the system infrastructure & control environment

- Deliver support for new products and initiatives

- Successfully work with various technology teams to enhance current processes and build new one in accordance with highest controls standards.

Core skills and requirements

- Numerate degree

- Knowledge and experience with derivative products in capital markets.

- Knowledge of Interest Rates, Credit spreads, bond pricing, CSA agreements, Collateral, etc.

- Strong technical skills including experience using Excel/Access to a high-level (knowledge of SQL/VBA an advantage)

- Strong communication & negotiation skills with confidence to work with multiple businesses & support groups

- Self starter able to deliver results in a complex environment

- Logical approach to problem solving

- Control mind set able to identify and deliver process improvements
