Assistant Manager / Manager - Taxation

Role Overview

The position part of the taxation team is chiefly responsible for handling all the matters pertaining to indirect taxation & partly direct taxation. The role requires complete ownership to computation & filing of returns, drafting replies & handling queries with respect to indirect taxation, advising management on taxation aspect of transactions

Typical Duties

- Handle computation / deposits of TDS to Government Authorities

- Filling of ITR's

- Advance Tax Computation & Deposit

- Oversee Income Tax Assessment of Company

- Review of Service Tax/Excise/VAT/WCT

- Handling Refund Claims of Special Entry Tax/Service Tax etc with the respective tax departments

- File replies to the Income Tax Authorities for various notices received from the Department

- Appear before CESTAT, Commissioner of service tax for the indirect tax litigation matters

- Advising management on taxation aspects pertaining to a transaction

- Handle Work Contract Tax Compliance of various States

- Oversee monthly closings

- Oversee accounts payable for correct deduction of tax liability

- Handle tax related MIS formation for reporting to management

- Liaising with internal and external auditors

- Departmental Compliance in Appeal Cases of companies

- Handle Labour Cess Assessment

Skill, Knowledge, Education and Experience

- CA with more than 6 years of experience, with atleast 3-4 years experience in Taxation with the real estate sector

- Knowledge of direct & indirect taxation, filing returns, filing replies to the authorities, assisting the legal team on tax litigation matters

- Detail oriented, strong planning and organization skills
