We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Statutory Audit Manager to join our team and play a key role in leading and managing statutory audit engagements.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and internal controls, along with experience in managing audit teams and client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Vision:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the statutory audit practice, fostering growth and profitability.
- Manage the audit practice as a semi-independent division, overseeing staff performance and resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor a team of audit professionals, providing coaching and guidance to ensure technical proficiency and client service excellence.
Audit Execution and Management:
- Plan and oversee the execution of statutory audits for various client entities, ensuring adherence to auditing standards and deadlines.
- Identify potential accounting and auditing issues during engagements, collaborate with audit in-charge to address them, and document the process thoroughly.
- Conduct substantive testing procedures in accordance with pre-defined audit plans, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of financial statements.
- Work with clients to identify and recommend improvements in their internal control systems.
- Draft clear and concise audit reports that effectively communicate audit findings and key recommendations to client management.
Financial Reporting and Client Communication:
- Participate in the preparation and maintenance of statutory books of accounts.
- Perform audit procedures and reconciliations for accounts receivable and payable.
- Assist senior staff in reviewing and finalizing client financial statements.
- Work collaboratively with seniors in preparing audit reports, management comment letters, and management representation letters.
- Maintain strong client relationships, effectively communicating audit progress, findings, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-13 years of experience in statutory audit, with a proven track record of successful audit engagement management.
Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) (depending on location).
Strong understanding of auditing standards and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide audit teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in financial analysis and accounting software (e. , MS Excel, audit software)
