1. JOB PURPOSE

(Briefly describe the general purpose of the position or its significance from the organisation's point of view and how it contributes to the overall mission/objective of the organization).

- This position is accountable for conducting risk surveys, delivery of loss control programs, underwriting reports and such similar services to ensure that good quality risks are always maintained with the company and are in line with the Underwriting Policies and Risk Engineering guideline set by the company.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Develop loss control programs for customers by drafting innovative, practical and cost effective risk improvement solutions which are in line with national and international codes, standards and practices. Ensure compliance to loss control program by periodic follow ups and necessary assistance to the client on implementation.

2. Conduct Risk Surveys as per company's Risk Survey Guidelines. Prepare risk report of surveyed risks for underwriting department to provide risk features and compute loss estimates (PML) for every such risk. On request for the risks not surveyed prepare desktop risk review reports to provide concise information to underwriters for decision making.

3. Maintain high degree of proficiency in building and maintaining client relationships in order to become a trusted consultant in terms of loss control. Establish technical capabilities and insights that feed into business proposition development. Ensure compliance with processes/regulations/policies/guidelines and resolution of any audit/review actions within agreed timelines.

4. Carry out “Post Loss Surveys” for loss learning and develop loss control programs for clients. Attend to Special Survey requirements and plan, arrange, coordinate and conduct such surveys.

5. Monitoring cost for the department expenses to ensure effective utilisation of resources.

4. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

(State the minimum acceptable proficiency for this job which best indicates the education and/or experience requirements of this job and not the incumbent).

Educational Qualifications and Experience

- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Production/Industrial Safety. Certification course in Industrial Safety or equivalent related certification is preferable.

- 2-5 years Insurance and Risk Management experience. 1-3 yrs work experience in manufacturing sector prior to insurance/risk management experience is preferable.
