Purpose of Department:

- The team performs investment research covering companies, regulatory policies, industry and markets across the globe. The team in Bangalore works closely with on-shore analysts based in India / HK / London / Russia and supports them in executing research.

Job Description:

- As an integral member of the Oil & Gas/Retail/FMCG/FMCD/Petrolium/Petrochemicals team in the Global Research division in Bangalore, the job involves providing a variety of research including modeling, analysis and report writing services to onshore members of the team. Key activities to be executed involve:

- Initiate, maintain and update and build models on a regular basis

- Analyze the changes in the regulations, new regulations and policies and its impact on the sector and the companies under coverage

- Actively participate in the idea generation, investment rationale for the stocks under coverage and valuations including various methodologies (DCF, DDM and relative multiple based valuations)

- Report Writing - Industry thematic, company notes, flash notes, regional reports

- Preparing presentations on the investment ideas for the clients

- Maintaining and updating various databases on the Oil & Gas / Retail / FMCG / FMCD / Petroleum / Petrochemicals

- Perform global and regional research in the Oil & Gas sector / Retail / FMCG / FMCD / Petroleum / Petrochemicals

Skills:

- Regular communication with the global team and with other parts of business

- Strong analytical skills

- Diligent, organized and should be able to work in a team

- Industry/company analysis

- Advanced financial modeling and valuation

- Write research and key reports for external/internal use, Internal presentations on investment views on sector/companies

- Knowledge of statistical/quantitative techniques an advantage

- Proficient at using MS Excel and MS word; database skills an advantage

Job Responsibility:

- Preference to candidates with exposure to any sector

- Exposure to equity research for Oil & Gas/Retail / FMCG / FMCD / Petroleum / Petrochemicals is an added advantage

- Work closely with onshore analyst

- Source industry and company data and creates/maintain systems to store and distribute such data

- Company models: maintaining/overhauling existing ones and building new ones

- Monitor news and events and keeps global team appraised of new developments

- Respond quickly to urgent demands for information/analysis, working extended hours as required

- Conduct financial analysis and communicate it through effective written research

- Take active part in regular sector conference calls

Educational Qualification: MBA graduate Tier1/CA with CFA
