AM - Data Center Security

Job Purpose:

To drive governance risk and compliance in the areas of internet security for entire Group which includes 50000 users, millions of external customers across 16 businesses to ensure the group's network remains protected from external and internal threats.

Implementation and sustenance of the critical infrastructure that enables and support these services is a critical and vital activity. Job holder needs to have a deep understanding of Internet Security Technologies, service delivery processes so as to align, drive and regulate all processes, technologies and people-force in synchronous activity for effective Service Delivery.

In absence of this job role, there will be no internal control or interface that will monitor and regulate service levels of services offered under Internet Security Portfolio and will result in degradation of service levels and increase in security incidents causing business disruption.

Internet Security at Group is one of the key factor that enables business to be conducted by users located in 25 Geographies across 5 continents. At any time, more than a million users and consumers are accessing below services provided under Internet Security Portfolio:

- Protection Services: These Services ensure access control that enables only legitimate and authorized users to have access to critical systems to conduct business activities. It also covers protection of business critical information assets\applications from any targeted attacks or hacking attempts from untrusted public network like Internet or Third parties. Protecting core business infrastructure from various malicious attacks\attempts from any internal entity is also monitored and prevented.

- Remote Access Services: Since Group is a manufacturing giant, at many times users are located in remote areas isolated from Core Business Infrastructure. Remote Services enables 4000+ users to securely connect to central Group network individually or as a group. This ensures all users are well connected regardless of their physical location.

- Secure Web Services: These Services ensures clear demarcation between Group private network and Public internet network while enabling safe and secure online business transactions for all Group's users that includes 50000+ employees, partners, consumers and service providers. Effective Bandwidth allocation as per business needs, with required prioritization and quality control are also in purview of secure web services.

Major Challenges for the Job role are as below :

- Since, majority of businesses are virtualizing business processes like logistics, supply chain management, operational support systems, it will be constant activity to understand and meet increasing business demands and at the same time ensure adequate security for conducting business.

- Job demands staying abreast of Security market trends, analyzing new threats and implement security controls to protect against ongoing & emerging perils from untrusted & trusted networks

- A definitive approach is to be set, that enable enhancement, optimization and ongoing improvement of existing services to meet the global industry standards.

- There is a need for constant monitoring and control over Service components to ensure service delivery levels are maintained and there is zero impact to business processes.

- Understanding business dependency on services and align service delivery for optimal business efficiency is also a key challenge.

Principal Accountabilities:

- To implement and control Service Delivery Processes and technologies to provide uninterrupted services to the businesses.

- To drive governance risks and compliance initiatives to improve the threat protection framework of Group to reduce security incidents and maximize the service uptime for business transaction.

- To drive CSATs and operational reviews with businesses to capture and enhance the security service offerings.

- To proactively drive and monitor the vendor engagements for timely renewals, upgrade of service levels and deliver quality of service to ensure uninterrupted support and compliance for all services.
