Assistant Manager - Subcontract

Job description:

Subcontracting is only done after performing a cost benefit analysis in order to determine whether or not the company will benefit from subcontracting.

- The job requires finding, developing and working with third parties on day-to-day basis. The third party could be in form of ‘contract manufacturers’, or vendors engaged in ‘packing’ and ‘co-packing’ related activities of FMCG products. The judgment on third party’s strength and capabilities to deliver at right cost and on time is the key to this function.

- Determining the production capacity, cost negotiations, payments to the third party, explaining the needs of the company to the third party and overseeing the work done by the third party to ensure that quality products are delivered on-time.

- The aspirant must have an ability to evaluate the resources required to carry out the activities at third party’s site. The aspirant has to closely work with other stake holders like Logistics and Supply Chain Team, Production Team, Quality Team in order to be fully aware of the needs of the company and guidelines.

- Through understanding about INCO Terms and its commercial implication is important.

- The aspirant has to ensure that subcontractors complies and adheres to company’s EHS, Quality and Social aspects and arranges the third party audit before engaging them.

- The aspirant has to continuously review the performance of subcontractors on capacity, production, delivery and on cost front and keeps senior management up to date.

- Ability to resolve conflicts, solve problems, make decisions and thereby improving profit levels by continuously monitoring business performance and providing periodic update reports to top management.

- The job demands travelling to meet with subcontractors and potential subcontractors.

Skills, Tools and Technologies:

- To perform tasks adeptly, the aspirant must have good communication and computer skills.

- Excellent ability to use MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, database user interface and query software, such as Microsoft Access, and procurement management applications in day-to-day functioning.

- Being able to work in a team environment and have to demonstrated leadership skills. Must possess problem solving skills, negotiation skills, organization skills, communication skills, analytical skills and interpersonal skills.

- The aspirant needs to be aware of accounting and finance principles and taxes.

Qualification and experience:

- Engineer with MBA degree from reputed institute with atleast 4 years of relevant working experience.
