The Legal Research Assistant Manager is a member of the Compliance department. The Assistant Manager will provide technical expertise and guidance to the Compliance Analyst team and will work closely with the Compliance leadership team and the Legal team to support corporate and business unit specific compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

- Manage complex legal research and analysis projects

- Act as a subject matter expert on areas of legal and regulatory significance

- Develop appropriate structure for large-scale research projects to achieve desired objectives and effectively communicate findings to varied stakeholders

- Perform legal and regulatory research on applicable state and federal laws relating to the mortgage industry

- Analyze legal and regulatory requirements at the state and federal level

- Manage special projects as necessary

- Develop working relationships with Compliance Managers in each business unit

- Develop knowledgebase of applicable laws and regulations related to the mortgage and real estate industries

- Build skill base and expertise of Compliance Analyst Team

- Maintain database of research projects

- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

- Four year degree from an accredited college or university is required

- 6-7 years of experience in paralegal or legal position, legal research, analysis and writing

- Experience using WestLaw, AllRegs and CounselorLaw to perform legal research

- Familiarity with federal and state regulatory websites

- Ability to manage simultaneous large-scale projects

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to rapidly adapt to changing circumstances

- Experience working effectively with global cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
