Alere - Manager - Cost Accounting - CA + CWA

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining accurate & timely cost accounting records, which involves analyzing financial data, obtained through evaluation, to determine the cost of products. Responsible for performing rate calculations, and for product and cost estimates. Comparing actual cost to targets, and identifying reasons for variances. Providing management with detailed reports for use in making business decisions and controlling expenditures. Providing financial analysis to evaluate special projects, programs, products costing, etc. when necessary. Lead in developing and verifying data relevant to cost accounting and margin analysis.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain timely and accurate cost accounting records which also includes calculating, reviewing and analyzing machine and labour hours, overhead costs, raw material & packing material cost.

- Ensure that financial controls are in place across the factory, which are in accordance to Group policy and are actively adhered to. This also includes accounting cut-off procedures.

- Designing of costing systems and controls for batch costing- life sciences

- Analyse actual manufacturing expenses and prepares periodic reports comparing with standard costs to actual production costs.

- Provides management and various departments with detailed reports for business decisions and controlling expenses

- Support management team with analytics around inventory turns, inventory levels and scrap/loss % in the manufacturing process.

- Should have knowledge of SAP Co module

- Able to articulate and generate manufacturing variances and identifying the root causes and recommend corrective actions.

- Proactively ensure compliance with Cost Audit & Records Rules 2014 and timely completion of audit & statutory filings

- Collaborate with Procurement team and production team in driving efficiencies in the procurement & manufacturing processes

- Support on preparation of Annual Budget or Operating plan for the manufacturing operations

- Update standard costs in the bill of materials

- Record manufacturing variance and other cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close for Incurred and P&L, and analyze any major deviations from budget/forecast

- Responsible to report key metrics for plant's performance, such as volume, cost per test, tests per Headcount, etc..

- Lead project savings validation

- Coordinate physical inventory counts, cycle counts, write off and provision process

- Support capital requests and ROI analysis

Minimum Job Requirements :

Educational Qualification Qualified Cost Accountant with ICWA degree

Experience Years: 6-9 yrs.

Industry: Healthcare

Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to competently perform the job) - Should have good analytical skills to provide meaningful analytics for business support

- Should have knowledge of IGAAP/IFRS/USGAAP

- Should have worked in SAP ERP environment.

- Should be able to grasp/understand the complexities of manufacturing operations.

- Should have worked in Manufacturing MNCs preferably Life science business
