We are looking for a specialist in Operations Management from Food Industry Background - FMCG
Graduates or Post Graduates in Food Science, Food Technology,Biotechnology or Microbiology with a min of 8 to 10 Yrs experience in FMCG, Food Processing Industry or Packaged Food Industry.
Key Work Areas for Operations Manager - FMCG
1. Production Operations -
Developing new process concepts for production optimization, yield improvement and develop guidelines for the sequencing of manufacturing activities on the shop floor (SOP).
Continuously drive technological up gradation, process improvement and new product development / innovation.
Monitoring the Product quality & conducting process control analysis for finished goods for the production operations.
Foreseeing performance bottlenecks and initiating corrective measures to avoid re-occurrence.
2. Strategic planning
Managing the manufacturing operations by monitoring and implementation of the annual business-planning, target setting and budgeting processes through leading a team of Managers, Technologists, Engineers and technicians.

Providing developmental inputs to the top management and to ensure the effective implementation of policies, processes and systems with respect to Financial planning, human resource management and information technology.
3. Value Engineering
Analyzing various processes / applications and recommending process modifications and equipment calibrations to enhance operational efficiency.
Identifying capacity limitations & bottlenecks and process problems, reasons for production shortfall for taking corrective action.
Undertaking troubleshooting & de-bottlenecking of process/equipment to enhance productivity.
4. Quality assurance / procurement
Establishing methods and validation i.e. rigorous testing of methods to ensure that they are precise, accurate, reproducible, "fool-proof" and specific to product, et0063
Maintaining quality standards for incoming materials, ensuring stringent adherence to quality standards, norms & practices, identifying gaps & taking corrective action
Monitoring of food & Non-food procurement.
5. Logistics management
Spearheading logistics operations encompassing coordination between production & distribution dept., collecting orders & distribution of food, customer complaint redressal & vehicle management.
Demonstrative excellence in transportation of food through vehicles thereby, able in maintaining the cook to consumption ratio under control to sustain quality of food.
Organizing regular periodic meetings & trainings for departmental in charge & Staff members for discussing current work issues and devising solutions for enhanced operations.
6. Man management
Organizing regular periodic meetings & trainings for departmental in charge & Staff members for discussing current work issues and devising solutions for enhanced operations.
Managing a team of Managers and other work force, ensuring their skills enhancement through continuous training and seminars to achieve their targets as per ISO / HACCP requirement.
7. Production, planning & control
Formulating annual budgets for raw material consumption, repairs and maintenance cost and work force requirement based on Annual operating Plan (AOP).
Handling production operations to ensure timely completion of production targets within pre-designated quantity, quality, safety, time and cost parameters
Preparing SOP and implementing effective techniques to bring efficiency improve quality standards & achieve maximum cost savings.
Effective resource planning for optimizing man & machine utilization, reducing wastes for enhancing productivity and profitability.
Overseeing production related tasks including planning, control and trouble shooting.
Setting up production targets and achieve the same within time and cost parameters.
Optimizing man & machine utilisation to achieve pre set production targets.
Implementing major cost savings strategies, productivity enhancements and improvements.

9. EHS / QA & QC
Maintaining ISO quality standards, ensuring stringent adherence to quality standards, norms &
practices, identifying gaps & taking corrective actions.
Handling proper documentation viz. preparing report, etc as per ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System).
Implementing mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting safety audits.
Auditing in different organisations based on ISO standards on behalf of Det Norske Veritas (DNV, an ISO Certification Company).
