Organizational Context

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will assist the Head- Corporate Partnerships in ensuring continuous improvement in fundraising effectiveness and raising income, in line with fundraising targets to support and develop the organisation's operational and strategic objectives.

The post holder will be responsible for a target each year so as to raise and increase net income and she/he will be an effective member of the fundraising team. It is anticipated and hoped that the nature of the post will change with higher targets and responsibilities as the work continues to develop. Apart from the above roles, the post holder will have an opportunity to increase their skills and develop the job. This is very much a developmental job and the areas of responsibility will increase over a period of time.

The main sources/focus of raising funds for this position would be the corporate sector. The mechanisms will include grants, donations, events, cause related marketing, employee giving and much more nationally and internationally.

II. Functions / Key Results Expected

A. Fundraising

- Contribute to development and successful implementation of fundraising plan for the long-term funding of the organisation

- Be responsible for the development of Corporate Partnerships initiative of the organisation and concentrate on Karnataka and in particular Bangalore and Mysore

- Adopt various strategies for reaching out to Corporate supporters

- Be responsible for a annual target

- Record income and provide forecasts

- Maintaining and devising office systems of the fundraising and communications team to facilitate the efficient organisation of the team's administration

- Maintain control over budgeted expenditure

B. Administrative assistance

- Acknowledge and deal with correspondence from individuals, donors, internal, public bodies, supporters and all other audiences as required.

- Word process letters, memos, reports, notes and other correspondence to a high standard of presentation

- Provide support where required for meetings including assisting with the preparation of agenda, collation of papers, taking and drafting of minutes and chasing follow-up actions to deadline.

General

- Be aware of and sensitive to the impact of gender, race and prejudice on attitudes, professional relationships and professional judgement, and be willing to intervene and challenge where necessary

- Maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure respect for, observance of and adherence to Akshaya Patra Foundations confidentiality policy by all staff

- Contribute to the development of the role as the organisation develops

- Undertake any task within the jobholder's skills and abilities as may be requested from time to time

- Willingness to attend meetings and be involved in other activities at irregular hours as required

Additional responsibilities

- To work closely with the relevant staff across Akshaya Patra Foundation to ensure effective co-operation and collaboration.

- Any other work as agreed with the the Line Manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education and Experience

- have a post graduate degree with at least 3 to 5 years- experience in relevant positions, of which at least 3 years should be in fundraising/marketing/development work

- have demonstrable understanding and experience of corporate social responsibility
