Position Details:
Position: Dy General Manager (Media & PR)
Department: Communications
Report to: Head (E-Presence)
Qualification & Experience:
- 12 to 15 years of functional experience in the area of media, PR & communication (preferably in the Social Space)
Role Expectations:
- The role incumbent is expected to be a seasoned media, PR / Communication professional who can spearhead the communication strategy/plan for the organization.
- Be able to create a “Positive Brand Equity” and continuously improve “Brand Recall Value” for Akshaya Patra among the existing/potential stake holders/Donors, by carefully planning and executing the communication/ branding plan.
- Be able to connect and deal with various stakeholders/communities/potential donor segments and communicate the updates/developments about Akshaya Patra.
- Be able to identify success criteria/metrics for the communication function/team and execute flawlessly.
- Plan and ensure that Akshaya Patra get coverage (unpaid) in Media (Print/TV etc) by adequate coverage to the various events/initiatives.
- Continuously innovate the approach plan/positioning plan to scale-up the “Brand Equity” of Akshaya Patra both in the country/Globally.
- The person should be able quickly gain thorough knowledge about the functioning of the organizational/functional nuances, to make that right positioning as far as organizational communication is concerned
- The person should also be able to conceptualize and implement communication interventions that will help to position Akshaya Patra as a thought leader within the MDM space and in the larger context of hunger and poverty.
- Able to manage relationships with Senior Functionaries within TAPF and associated institutions and provide support in the area of branding/communications
- Be able to join-up and contribute to strategic deliberations in the organization.
- Be able to lead the team to higher levels of performance excellence.
Job Specifications:
- Post-graduation in Mass Communications/Journalism or related areas.
- 12-15 years of relevant functional experience (last 5-7 levels be at Leadership Levels) (Preferably in development sector)
- Excellent communication skills (Spoken/Written and Documentation)
- Excellent networking skills with Media /Communication professionals
- Result oriented and delivery capability
- Flexible and adaptable to organizational needs
- Ability to travel ( 10-12 days per month) at short-notice
