About the Job

Akamai is looking for a Manager of Marketing Operations who can help transform the function to better serve the company as it seeks to scale. This manager will be responsible for the daily campaign operations processes for our Global Marketing department, as well as driving strategies for process improvement, database quality, and the implementation of marketing automation. This role will require significant contribution towards the strategic aspects of Marketing operations, including the design of systems, processes, and people management.

About the Team

The Marketing Operations (Process) team services Akamai's Global Marketing Programs teams fulfilling target account research, lead upload, and contact/account research requests as well as managing our competitive program operations. The team also drives operational initiatives including database cleansing and developing SalesForce marketing related processes. The team will also play a key role in the migration to and management of an industry standard marketing automation solution.

Responsibilities:

- Manage team of seasoned operations specialists and support all the process and operational needs of Akamai’s Global Marketing organizations.

- Hire and train operations specialists as necessary to meet the growing demands of the organization.

- Set, report on and manage to operational standards in the fulfillment of marketing operations.

- Work with internal stakeholders to report on campaign metrics and processes, and measure campaign efficiencies across geographies

- Manage operational processes including lead scoring and lead routing. Manage overall database health, including contact retention/engagement and data cleanliness – driving initiatives to improve the quality and scope of our marketing database.

- Manage the migration to marketing automation, redesigning processes to take advantage of the capabilities of this new system

- Effectively present results to Marketing Leadership team.

Qualification:

Basic Qualification

- Minimum 6 years of experience in Sales or Marketing Operations, requiring quantitative analysis, problem solving, and database management

- Minimum 2 years’ experience at Senior/Lead/Manager level, with people management skills

- Extensive knowledge of SalesForce, Excel and Access, and minimum 2 years’ experience working with relational databases

- Experience with any marketing automation solution (Marketo, Eloqua, ExactTarget or Unica) is an added advantage

Desired Skills

- Proven track record of delivering zero-error reports & metrics

- Extensive experience presenting metrics and leading discussions with Director levels or above

- Service-oriented – able to manage the demands of multiple constituencies in a high pressure environment

- Ability to build strong business relationships and collaborative environments

- Excellent communication and influencing skills a must

- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction skills

- Attention to Detail

- Ability to manage complex multi-month cross-functional projects

- Experience in the high-tech industry

- Experience working in a highly matrix global organization
