Key Responsibilities of this role:
Responsible for overall alignment, management, coordination between units:
- Working with Unit and HO team for efficient and economical purchase of goods and its management
- Responsible for purchase of finished goods, reselling of these and order
Raw material purchasing, Stock and Product Availability and Control:
- Work with sales, marketing and other internal teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts reflecting any last minute changes to forecast based on business requirements
- Parts management
- Systems management
- Funds Management
- Oversee third party audits
- Maintain stocks of raw materials and finished products to meet the agreed sales forecast
- Prepare a purchasing plan for all commodities to get due approval from SBU Head and related authorities for purchase of materials
- Overall responsibility for managing inventory, receipting and movements and stock reconciliation at the end of each period
- Coordinate with related depts. On periodic stock checks
- To establish and manage bid specification, bid evaluation committees with defined roles and time lines
- To ensure that a complete and accurate supplier database is developed with adequate details and utilized
Manage Relationships with Supply Chain Partners:
- Manage relationships with manufacturing and storage and logistics partners in the supply chain, including organizing regular supply chain meetings
- To manage annual SCM risk assessment, development of SCM risk response plan and implementation
Supply Chain Cost Management and Budgets/Reporting:
- Manage all elements of supply chain costs including ocean freight, handling and storage, costs of processing and distribution
- Monitor cost of sales with supply chain partners, with aim of reducing costs and gaining efficiencies in the supply chain, monitoring KPIs.
- Manage the budget for the supply chain activities, ensuring accurate records for cost of sale/margin analysis by product and report progress against budgets
- Work with Marketing, Finance and other internal departments on cost of sales for new products/product development
- Report against the agreed Standard KPIs
- Timely and relevant supply chain information reported to relevant stakeholders
Environmental and Quality Management Standards, Projects and Continuous Improvements:
- Roll out initiatives on environmental strategy, packaging technology, quality standards, disaster/business recovery planning procedures
- Work and support related depts. For Procurement and plan & guide the day-to-day activities of the Supply Chain team on product recalls and other quality incidents, audits by the Fair-trade Foundation, Soil Association etc.
- Work with related departments and internal and external partners on projects and continuous improvement in
- Supply Chain department processes
- To develop and oversee implementation of disposal plan for redundant, obsolete and unserviceable goods,
- Any other appropriate tasks
People Management:
- Lead and coach the Supply Chain team ensuring objectives and personal development plans are defined and agreed in line with company strategic objectives and goals
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team
Policy and Procedure:
- To ensure that SCM department has industry best practices and ensuring adherence to laid down external and internal legal policies and processes.
- To ensure that SCM is statutorily complaint
Skills: (Skills, Knowledge, Qualification, Competencies (Behavioral & Functional)
Qualification: B.E, Diploma in sourcing management,
Experience: 15-20 Years, Electronic sourcing,
Technical Knowledge/ Skills:
- Departmental policies and procedures, Statutory requirements and compliance, Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, Supply Chain Management, Communication and Negotiation skills , experience of people management
Behavioral Competencies:
- Hard Working, Task oriented, Calm & Composed, Team Person, Having Good leadership qualities
