Designation: Unit/Plant Head (AGM)
Reports to: Head Operations
Required Experience: Minimum 15 years, preferably in a process manufacturing industry
Required Qualification: Mechanical/Industrial Production Engineer/Chemical
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Plant Head will be responsible for heading the manufacturing of the unit all functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES
- Responsible for the plant Operations comprising of Mechanical, Electrical Maintenance ,Quality Assurance, IR, Commercial and Project activities.
- Fix and achieve production, maintenance, quality & dispatch targets.
- Achieve budgeted production costs which include raw material, power & fuel, manpower and stores cost.
- Oversee the production process, drawing up of production schedule
- Minimize breakdown by planning and executing proactive maintenance and maintain OEE.
- Adopt measures of productivity enhancement & continual improvement in the plant
- Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment with the help of Engineering Design & Projects Team.
- Estimate manning requirements and material resources.
- Effectively utilize the company resources by adopting various innovative ideas of Production, Maintenance and Installation etc.
- Ensure optimal utilization of fuel by incorporating best practices.
- Minimize reworking, rejects and wastages.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Ensure statutory provisions under various applicable laws are complied with.
- People Management review performance of subordinates and identify training and recruitment needs of the unit.
- Monitor & reduce stores inventory & finished goods.
- Implement Quality Management Systems to deliver defect free products.

- Production, manufacturing excellence and materials procurement
- Liaisoning with other functions at the corporate level, such as sales and finance.
- Exemplary integrity and work ethics
- Knowledge of established as well as leading-edge tools and concepts in manufacturing like TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Six sigma etc.
- Skilled in dealing with workmen and good understanding of labour laws, environmental norms/applications.
