Objective Statement :
- Provide innovative ideas for Contract Farming model and responsible for sourcing Marigold, other crops from the growing areas and to ensure adequate supply of Raw Materials to Dehydration centers thereby achieving the set targets, growth and profitability by aligning the agro-operations.
Functional Skills :
- Knowledge of Agronomic aspects of growing various Crops
- Contract Farming procedures
- Knowledge of pest & diseases and control
- Knowledge on various crop growing locations & farmers and climatical implications on crop growing
Objectives and deliverables of the Role :
- Plan for the Marigold acreages, flower volume, area wise, FSC wise, zone wise action plan and Implementation as per the annual, short and long term plan in consultation with V.P Operations
- Keep abreast of Agronomic aspects of growing various Crops, NFR of crops, Seasons which give High Yield and High NFR, Marigold Contract Farming procedures, assess various climate implications on crop growing and propose alternative plan of action
- Provide managerial/leadership guidance to the team to Identify key-growing areas, progressive, contract farmers to achieve targeted acreage, Quantity and Quality Flowers and yield per Acre.
- Implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) through training and motivating field staff by updating technical data.
- Accountable for flower forecast, flower arrival schedule and bag schedule; co-coordinating with dehydration centre and Accounts Department to arrange transportation of flower to the dehydration center and to arrange timely payment for the farmers
- Achieving the acreage and flower targets with quality in the context of the heavy competition, climatic/ monsoon challenges, like realizing the acreage in reduced ground water position; seed and pesticide recovery, weight loss control, planning and chalking out appropriate action plans
- Transporting Fresh Flower on Same Day of Harvest which will help in enhancing X.PHYLL by preventing the Loss of X. Phyll after Harvest & Control of Weight Loss
- Leading the team consisting of AM, Executives, EO, CFC and FA by exchange of ideas and interaction & by updating new techniques; attending the specific problems raised during the field work by EO's; Conducting review meetings to assess the forecast of the flower and achieving the same
- Training FA, FC and farmer on Good Agricultural Practices to achieve high NFR
- Develop Agro-operations personnel by assessing their performance, setting goals, providing coaching, counseling, field training, and/or discipline as needed , while supporting continuous improvement
