Job Description for Corporate Employee Relations :
- Establishing the company wide ER priorities in consultation with the locational ER heads, considering the changing environmental scenario, past reflections, future challenges and keeping in mind the core organization philosophy.
- Grasp the company wide labor risk items by taking regular inputs from location ER heads on the as is condition and probable risks on account of anticipated future events and proactively put in strategies to mitigate the risk.
- Provide strategic support for wage negotiations, bonus settlements, union elections and other critical items by: Following industry trends, benchmarking with companies within the industry, allied industry, and other relevant sectors in the vicinity of the plant and also group companies and help arrive at an informed judgement.
- Make a wage settlement proposal for the top management and get it approved.
- Track progress on negotiations as per plan/milestones at each stage and provide strategic inputs to achieve the desired results.
- Drive excellence in ER practices through sharing of best practices, from both within and external to the company.
- Continuously challenge the status quo by creating an opportunity to share the best practices within the company and across the industry.
- Identify the improvement themes based on ER bottlenecks and drive improvement projects through cross functional working.
- Develop the organization capability towards labor management,both in terms of capacity & capability.
- Identify the high potentials and performers in the ER function across the company and groom them through structured job rotations,special assignments.
- Identify weak areas in the ER functioning and plan interventions in the form of Training/Coaching/Sponsorship for developing capability of ER team.
- Support the ER teams at the units for optimal manning
