Job Description: - Design Strategy for Optimum Engineering

1) Work with other functions to suggest better and optimum design for the projects

2) Ensure correctness and timeliness of drawings and other design documents as per international codes and requirement of the clients

3) Coordinate with internal customers for their various requirements and manufacturing capability

4) Coordinate and correspond with client, third party Inspection Agency, PE etc. for approval of design documents

Profitability & Cost Optimization:

1) Ensure preparation and design of documents as per the divisions goals for required order booking, billed sales and profitability

2) Identify and suggest alternative material / processes for the products and components in order to bring down the costs.

3) Cut costs by restricting design error related back charges and manage Design related software and AMC expenses etc.

Productivity Enhancement & Automation:

1) Introduce | enhance level of automation in various processes to minimize manual interventions in Design

2) Contribute to divisional productivity enhancement initiatives

3) Ensure reduction of rework at departmental level

People Development:

1) Lead a team of Design managers, engineers and draughtsmen

2) Ensure development of skilled and competent manpower for design to meet the global competition

3) Identify Competency gaps of team & work on developmental plans

Organizational initiatives & Statutory Compliance

1) Drive management systems and initiatives such as IMS, TPM, KAIZEN and Business Excellence for department

2) Ensure adherence to and management of Quality systems (ISO, ASME etc.)

3) Ensure safety procedures are followed at all levels and good housekeeping levels are maintained

4) Understand and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and internal processes.

Requisite Qualification:

Essential Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production)

Preferred Masters Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production)

Requisite Experience:

Essential - Minimum 15 years of experience for Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production)

- Relevant experience in Design in Process Equipment Industry in Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Columns, and Reactors using national and international codes like ASME (Sec. VIII Div. 1 & 2), HTRI, TEMA, AD Merkblatter, PD 5500, Chinese SQL etc.

1) Knowledge of sequence of Manufacturing processes

3) Knowledge of various national and international material specifications

4) Knowledge of AUTOCAD (PV Elite Software) and ERP (BaaN) software

5) Computer Proficiency
