Job Description

Job Summary/Purpose:

To head the Commercial department and co-ordinate with all the sites pertaining to the material requirement in company. Also responsible for running commercial department and ensure things run smoothly.

Duties/Responsibilities

Key Responsibility:

- Procurement of equipment, vehicles, machinery and material from vendors in Nigeria and overseas.

- Responsible for plant production goals Maintaining the daily prices of diesel, petrol, cement, aggregate, reinforcement, tyres, batteries, mattresses etc.

- Running the division as a separate profit centre. Exploring vendors/supplier for supply of diesel, cement, aggregate, reinforcement, tyres, batteries and other work related items for all Project Sites and Main Yard and maintaining a data bank for the same.

- Ensuring quality control of all products.

- Maintaining and updating of inventory of stores

- Ensuring physical stock check of stock/store once every two weeks

- Obtaining requirement of store items from Project Sites, Transport Manager, Plant Maintenance Manager, Project Managers and other staff of Company.

- Maintaining list of fast moving, medium moving and slow moving spares of equipment, vehicles and machinery Arranging delivery of stores for Project Sites in coordination with Transport Manager, Plant Maintenance Manager, Project Managers, Assistant General Manager and Administrative Officer.

- Arranging delivery of stores for Project Sites in coordination with Transport Manager, Plant Maintenance Manager, Project Managers, Assistant General Manager and Administrative Officer.

- Arranging houses for expatriates including hiring and furnishing of these houses.

- In addition to the above, the Employee shall undertake such duties and exercise such powers in relation to the Company and its business as the Managing Director of the Company reasonably directs from time to time, and do and perform all other acts and things in the ordinary course of business which and in the discharge of such duties and in the exercise of such powers, the Employee shall observe and comply with all reasonable resolutions, regulations and directions from time to time given by the Management.

Person Specification

Experience

- Minimum qualifications include a relevant degree in material managment or similar from an internationally recognized university.

- B.Com / B.Tech Mechanical with 20+ years of exp out of which at least 10 years exp in Commercial department.

- Strong working knowledge in procuring material and equipment’s required for civil road construction/bridges/culverts/Asphalt Projects)

- Committed to a minimum of 3+ years full-time living & working in Nigeria.

- Must possess demonstrable and measurable success in a similar role in a large or medium sized construction company ideally within Nigeria or within a similar challenging environment.

Knowledge and training

- Strong purchasing awareness required.

- Some knowledge on where to source spares

- Computer knowledge

Salary - $5000 to $6000 per month for the selected candidate.
