Goal of the Position

1. Provide statistical problem solving services i.e. consultancy and execution to a team of dedicated professionals comprising of domain, statisticians and tool experts within the company who service the end client.

2. Play the role of both an individual contributor and a supervisor in the technical area in a particular vertical (Finance, Insurance, Retail, Teleco, High Tech, Entertainment, and CPG).

Essential Functions

- Lead and manage team of smart middle and junior statisticians and tool experts in executing their day to day work.

- Make analytical choices/take technical calls with simple and complex client problems.

- Identify and correct quality issues in technical analysis

- Communicate technical jargon to clients in non-technical business language.

- Good communication skills oral and written.

- Provide technical thought and guidance to the team and client on client projects from the Business understanding stage to the presentation stage of the project.

- Should be able to bring thought to the proposal stage and generate technical insights from interpretation at the presentation stage.

- Demonstrate thought leadership in coming up with new techniques/innovative applications of statistics to solve business problems.

- Contribute to building business by being a part of the team that showcases company work to clients for new pitches

- Mentor and groom junior statisticians into own role

Qualifications:

- M.Sc. in Maths/Statistics

- Strong conceptual understandings of statistical concepts like probability, hypothesis testing, regression, variable reduction. Time series and segmentation at least.

- Good working hands on knowledge of SAS Base and SAS Stat/Enterprise Miner, SPSS/Clementine

- Strong communication skills both oral and written.

- Team management experience with technical people (minimum team size 10-15 members).

- Prior work experience must be mostly in working with data and statistics in the market research or CRM data space for at least 5 years in a required vertical/verticals).

- Willingness to travel to client locations for interaction(passport should be valid)

Secondary Functions

- Train statisticians in simple and complex analytical techniques.

- Ability to create technical products

- Six sigma training and experience

Minimum Qualifications needed to fulfill the above function:

- At least 5 years experience in analytics in the required vertical

- Must have handled team sizes of at least 10-15 people and multiple projects at the same time

- Must be comfortable with unstructured problem solving

- Passport and a US visa

Candidate should have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously & experience in varied domains
