Advisor/Head - Legal
Our client, a reputed Group in Real Estate and Construction industry, looking for a Head-Legal/Legal Advisor on full-time employment basis to be based in Thane.
- The ideal candidates should be an experienced person from real estate sector with 8-15 years experience, out of which 3-6 years in a senior position handling similar position in real estate/construction. The major role and responsibilities would be-
- Drafting and vetting all documents pertaining to sale of residential/commercial properties like; allotment letters, agreement to sale, sale deeds etc
- Drafting and vetting all documents pertaining to financial agreements
- Review and provide legal advice on tender documents.
- Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly.
- Handle court cases independently, as and when required
- Liaison with concerned departments to ensure that wherever legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken
- Provide legal protection and risk management advice to the management
- Draft, negotiate and manage all contracts- Review and recommend revisions to templates periodically, to reflect new requirements.
- Participation on all department management teams, providing guidance on agreement rights and obligations, and evaluating need for template modification to reflect new requirements
- Become expert in the Legal Department contract management system and use it daily to track the status of contracts
- Advising the finance and secretarial departments in understanding the shareholder and share purchase agreements entered into with various investors.
- Develop relationships with sales and appropriate business people to help facilitate successful contracting.
- Train sales and sales support people in the population of standard contracting forms
- Other duties as assigned, including filing, copying, and scanning documents as necessary through team.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to complete accurate work in a demanding environment
- Strong commercial contract background
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Aptitude/personality to enable successful negotiation with all levels of customer representatives, including attorneys, and with internal stakeholders
- Strong customer-focus (with both internal and external customers) including conflict resolution, problem solving, and strong active listening skills
- A team player with a can-do attitude
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize; multi-task; and work with competing deadlines
- Self-motivated with excellent follow-up skills and the desire to take on increasing responsibilities
- Strong PC skills (especially in using Tracked Changes in MS Word) including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume/tight deadline environment, with shifting priorities.
Compensation:
- Negotiable and not a constraint for right candidates
