Overview of Group IT

This position is with Group Information Technology (Group IT). Group IT works closely with businesses, corporate functions and partners, providing strategic direction and thought leadership to the Group's IT initiatives. It is responsible for formulating and administering IT policies covering standards, information risk management and governance.

Group IT has deep roots in each of our businesses - thanks to the bias for driving business value from world-class technology and above all the quality of our people. IT has underpinned our Group's business growth trajectory and will continue to - while seamlessly integrating innovation and transformation agenda.

Group IT manages the Centre of Excellence and Global Shared Help Desk for supporting enterprise-wide business applications including SAP, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management practices. It engages with business transformation projects in deploying enterprise architecture, best practices and platforms like Cloud, Mobility, Analytics and Social Media.

The Group has implemented a single global instance of PeopleSoft covering end-to-end processes — from recruitment to performance appraisal to increment processing. Group IT leads corporate initiatives in cost improvements, innovations, acquisitions and divestments, e-commerce, knowledge management and collaboration - enabled by Microsoft Sharepoint and the Group's WAN — Aditya Birla Information Highway.

Position

- This position is at a Group level wherein the incumbent is responsible for leading and driving
Group level Information Security policies and processes The incumbent will also be responsible for leading identifying, to analyze and pilot emerging technology trends (Technology Labs), develop and implement Group level IT Policies & Standards, Drive Innovation Projects and improving the End User Productivity thru IT.

- Conceptualising a modern, relevant & common Technology framework for a highly diversified & Global corporation like Aditya Birla Group. The Job Holder needs a sense of what is world class as well as what can be implemented in a road map versus current & evolving Business needs. Rate of Technological change, federated nature of ABG Businesses and need for Speed and getting best value for IT investments. Working in a seamless manner and Contributing value to each Business of the Group versus each having its own plans. This needs Technology Leadership, Long Term Strategy and Service orientation to sustain the approach over the Road Map.

Responsiblities

1. Lead the Information Security initiatives of ABG to ensure good baseline security across businesses for safeguarding company and customer stakes and to continuously raise the baseline.

2. Define and communicate corporate plans, procedures, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating new security systems, equipment, software, and other technologies

3. Develop, track and control the security services covering annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations

4. Ensure that emerging technologies are scanned and options indicated by businesses are analyzed in detail for effective deployment

5. Drive Innovation Projects - Evolve framework / policy for Innovation Projects. Identify priority areas and Business Case

6. Lead End User Productivity initiatives- Along with Business IT, plan and work on key End User IT initiatives
