About the company:

Mining division of Aditya birla Group was acquired in 1970. The operations are based in Orissa

The Ferro-Chem Division, established in 1980, is India's largest producer of Noble Ferro-Alloys. Its plant located at Vapi, a major industrial hub in Gujarat, is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified.

Today we are poised to grow as a value added Global Mining Company not only in Iron Ore but also exploring opportunities in Coal. Bauxite, Titanium, Manganese and infrastructure.

As a strategic initiative to diversify in other sector, we have made a foray into Wind Power sector by setting up a 75 MW Wind Power Plant in Maharashtra. It has recently started contract coal mining operations under BCML at Talcher, Orissa.

Logistic infrastructure is a key factor in Mining cost as well as timely delivery of materials. Company has taken a lot of initiative to develop various logistic infrastructures like construction of Railway Siding, Minor Ports in Orissa, invest in Railway Rakes under WIS, Mid Sea loading appointment of dedicated transporters, development of rail link with RVNL, etc.

Such plans for development of new business require expertise in mineral property exploration & evaluation, financial modeling, acquisition & joint ventures, negotiation, project development and implementation as per the relevant rules and regulations (Including legal issues, Agreements, Transfer of Mineral rights & Business Plans),etc

Job Purpose:

- To provide high quality management support to MD in Strategic Planning, Business Development,Project Execution and Managing Business Operations with an objective of achieving Business Goals

Qualification & Experience:

- B.E(Mining) +2 years full time MBA in Finance OR CA-1st attempt + years full time MBA in Finance from premier business school with 10-12 years of experience out of which min. 5 years should be in Mining Industry .

Should have exp in:

- Organize & co-ordinate for high level Review Meetings

- Ensure effective communication & Inter-departmental coordination with functions Heads to ensure smooth functioning of business

- Preparation of strategic Business plan.

- Variance Analysis of key Cost parameter of Operation units & Project

- Identifying & evaluating business expansion, leads in Project Development activities, as well growth/ diversification in entire value chain

- Exp in driving all strategic initiatives of buss in coordination with the external and internal stakeholders.

- Overlooks at Continuous Process Improvement by optimizing resources and cost of production of

Knowledge and skills required:

- Exp in MIS reporting & analysis to evaluate business performance for presentation to the top management

- Knowledge in developing business strategies

- Techno commercial evaluation of opportunities for strategic alliances

- Analysis of regulatory policies and their impact on business areas

- Competitor analysis and benchmarking, industry analysis and Macro-economic indicator analysis

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

1. Contribute in formulation of Corporate Strategy incorporating Organic and Inorganic Growth initiatives.

2. Monitor on daily, weekly and monthly basis actual achievement versus plan, identify deviations and drive corrective actions to be taken for addressing deviations from plan & monitor its progress regularly

3. Monitor status of key regulatory approvals and projects activities

4. Continuously analyze developments in national and global economy, industry, sector and competitive landscape.

5. Support MD in evaluating investment in potential projects and make informed investment decisions.

6. Work with Business Development teams in conducting due-diligence of acquisition targets, develop valuation models, obtain internal investment approvals, and formulate negotiation strategy with sell-side promoters / investment bankers and facilitate transaction execution.

7. Support MD in preparing important Business communication including presentations and submissions to various internal and external stakeholders

8. Facilitate drafting of Industry submissions on key policy issues impacting business environment for onwards submission to appropriate Government departments.

9. Work with Group Corporate Communications for developing content for Web-site, Corporate Advertisements in Print media, Corporate Brochures, Standees etc for enhancing Corporate Image.

10. Support MD in implementing Change Management Initiative for transforming the organization and preparing for future growth.

11. Work with Company Secretary to institutionalize Corporate Governance best practices.

12. Support MD in rolling out Delegations of Financial Authority matrix and modifying the same as and when required.

13. Support Operating Teams in developing Risk Management Framework.

14. Monitor Enterprise Wide Risk Management Status on regular basis, identifying exceptions for MD review and contribute actively to formulate and implement mitigation plans for rectifying gaps if any.
