4. Key Purpose of the Role:
The Vice President is the Head of Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and is responsible for the overall delivery, outcome and effectiveness of the Digital Services initiatives. The Vice President is also responsible for business growth and profitability of the SBU that is in line with the goals of the Company apart from being a thought-leader on the Practice area.
5. Primary Responsibilities :
- Manage the business topline as per the business plan of the firm
- Provide strategic consulting inputs to clients
- Provide strategic counsel to internal teams for enhancing quality of work and delivery on each client
- Track issues and opportunities which impact client businesses. Develop and recommend solutions to advise clients to manage such issues.
- Assist client and team in managing crises situations
- Manage relationships with the CEO/CXO levels in the client organization
6. Other Responsibilities
7.1 Client Servicing :
Responsible for :
- Provide advice and counsel on client digital/social media programs
- Responsible for strategy, planning and execution as agreed with the client
- On-boarding of the account, based on initial pitch and SLA committed
- Assigning a relevant servicing and delivery team responsible for the account
- Briefing the team in terms of tasks/activities on Daily / Weekly / Monthly basis
- Providing a direction and prepare theme / structure of Quarterly Plans
- Review Q-plans along with other client documents before sharing with the client
- Provide inputs and insights to Quarterly reviews and other activity closure (dossiers, campaign reports, etc.) documents along with interpreting the results
- Responsible for quality of services and experience across client organization
- Engage client representatives across all levels, with a focus on CEOs, CXOs
- Cross-sell, up-sell services as relevant to the client communication program
- Resource planning and work allocation/management along with SAM/AM
- Responsible for sharing best practices, industry trends, innovations with the team
- Coordinate with internal and external vendors/partners, wherever necessary to facilitate delivery
- Manage invoicing, billing cycle and collections as defined and mutually agreed with the client
7.2 Knowledge Management
Responsible for :
- Building knowledge tools and repositories relevant to Practice area
- Guide teams in developing innovative practices relevant to Practice area
7.3 Business Management :
Responsible for :
- Lead all new client acquisition initiatives as per the business plan
- Client retention as per the business plan
- Building relationships with key people in the industry
- On-time inflows of retainers from all clients
7.5 Team Management
Responsible for :
- Leveraging resources within SBU and the agency as a whole for maximum benefit
- Coaching team members to take on larger roles
- Compliance to organizational guidelines
- Resolving interpersonal conflicts within teams/locations
- Diligent execution of the performance management program of the Company
- Promoting a n apolitical work environment

9. Freedom to Act :
There is enough freedom for the incumbent to act in this position as far as SBU operation is concerned. General policy and guidelines are followed religiously.
- Decisions related to commercial terms of client engagement are referred to management.
- Works within the broad framework of guidelines and any deviations need to be approved by management.
- Superiors monitor the performance based on feedback from clients and from internal systems e.g. IMSR, CSS, Q Plans and Quarterly reviews etc. developed for tracking smooth functioning.
10. Co-ordination activities :
Internal :
- With Strategy and planning - Regularly for Revenue planning and forecasting. Management business development and performance review.
- With Client Retentions team - To engage and retain the existing clients. Monthly service review
- With Finance - For client contract and outstanding payment related issues.
- With Human Resource - For manpower related matter, Retaining and engaging employee. Employee welfare and training.
- With IT for SharePoint / Timesheet / Social media and tracking and monitoring.
External :
- Management of Client organization - Regularly, to understand their priorities and challenges and to address their problems and queries
- With Media - Regularly, for all digital media-related issues on activations and other customer-related problems
- Trade bodies
- Regulatory agencies
11. Educational Qualification:
- Master Degree in Mass Communication / Public Relations / Journalism from a premier Institute or MBA in Marketing
12. Experience: 15-20 years
