Adani Group - AGM - Workplace Safety/Systems & Compliance

- Responsible for promoting Adani Group Health & Safety Vision, Policies, Principles, Procedures and Practices, facilitating deployment of Safety Standards at all Adani sites across Group businesses involving management commitment & actions by providing guidelines and support on all relevant safety systems and compliances within Health & Safety and Line organization.

Key Accountabilities :

1. Develop an integrated Health & Safety Strategy for driving implementation of released Group Safety Standards to the finer granularity across Adani BU sites by aligning to Adani business imperatives and by reinforcing key safety risks and other safety priorities through well-defined functional plans.

2. Support business sites in conducting gap assessments and surveys on safety standards and formulating business level implementation plan against each rolled out standard and monitor progress for onward feedback to Safety Steering Committees.

3. Assess potential risks at business work sites and evaluate safety metric data to lead hazard/risk reduction strategies and initiatives and accountable for the development & delivery of appropriate risk management education and training at the Business/Site locations.

4. Facilitate investigation of serious and High Potential incidents, reports of work-related illnesses and dangerous occurrence whenever required and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.

5. Formulate Safety Directives as desired against critical safety aspects/ elements of safety standards or against flagrant safety issues or other vulnerabilities for ensuring mandatory compliances by businesses.

6. Formulate problem / situation specific initiatives - emergency response, disaster recovery, contingency, contractors, etc. as shared by the line managers across the company. Evaluate sites for checking adequacy and efficacy of mitigation plans vis- vis each potential emergency situations at an Adani facility.

7. Develop OH&S performance matrix on safety standards and evaluate progress of implementation on a periodical basis and ensure onward reporting to Group Head Safety.

8. Extend support to the site team on various safety workstreams designed to implement safety excellence deliverables.

Educational Requirements & Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Full Time) with Post Graduate qualification in Health & Safety from a Government recognized institute.

- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in Corporate Health and Safety Management in a large Industrial set up. National or Regional experience is strongly preferred.

- Experience in developing, implementing, and managing a Health and Safety Management System.

- Proven capability in achieving health and safety performance improvement and experience leading to cultural change within health and safety in a large integrated organization.

- Sound people skills with the ability to establish and build on working relationships effectively.

- Proven experience in leading a team of health and safety practitioners at multiple locations.
