Reporting into the Lead of Corporate Reporting in GFS, this individual will handle a team of 30+ individuals involved in Legal Entity Control team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing financial reporting for the subsidiaries across ANZ and Asia region which includes complete ownership of statutory/financial reporting- finalization of accounts, managing audit process & ensuring clearance of accounts, resolving technical accounting matters (with BU support, where required) and board reporting.
- Effective risk management of legal entities assigned to the LEC service line for ANZ and Asia region
- Act as Legal Entity Controller for certain super high risk and high risk entities.
- Represent Finance in critical Board Meetings
- Impact analysis of New accounting standards, restructures and internal projects on Legal entities
- Advisory on NPA- s/ business transactions from legal entities perspective
- Compliance and decision making for financial conditions of AFSL entities
- Decision making for key responsibilities in the service line which include dividend assessments, impairment considerations, licensing requirements, impact assessment of new product approvals.
- Representing the shared service centre in various global forums within the company
- Planning, training of staff and day-to-day management/oversight of the LEC team including review, quality of service and optimal resource utilization.
- Liaising with global teams of external auditors to ensure successful and seamless completion of audits
- Proactively working with the global team leads to ensure that tasks are well documented, standardised and improved continuously
- Managing and influencing stakeholders across Finance (Corp reporting, FC teams), Treasury, Tax, RMG (PCM, Central Compliance, BU compliance) and Legal & Governance teams (GEM, legal). In addition, managing expectations of Business directors is a key focus area.
- Spearheading change management for the function through automation and efficiency initiatives and embracing new tools available.
About you:
You are an experienced person in financial services (specifically Banking industry), BIG 4 and exposure to financial accounting and statutory reporting in a service industry environment is preferred.
- You have the ability to act as a role model to influence the behaviour of the wider high performing team. Provide direction to people, projects and/or processes and creates opportunities for others to develop and extend their skills and experience.
- With a flair of excellent interpersonal skills and a fair idea of client planning and organising work, decision making and effective in change management.
To be successful in the role:
- Professional accountancy qualification CA / CPA
- Experience with Legal Entity Control / Financial Reporting and Compliance /Financial Control.
- Experience in a Banking / IB/FS industry/ Big 4 environment will be preferred.
- Experience of working in an International environment will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification relevant industry experience
- Knowledge of Fintech and working on global change projects will be an added advantage
