Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build an Actuarial calculators/Templates (in Excel) for the various Life Insurance (Term, WL, UL, VUL, IUL) or annuity products (Fixed, Variable, FIA, MYGA) specific calculations like (COI, Cash Value, RMD, MVA, Death benefit, Loans, Illustrations, etc.)
- Reviewing calculators provided by the client for validation at the direction of the client
- Analyze the client new product requirements, product enhancements and coming up with the new calculations or models to support leadership in decision making
In client conversions, participate in product rationalization efforts through analysis of product design and review of specification documents and/or product prospectuses. This includes performing full product assessments in order to identify plan code consolidation and system requirements;
- Perform new product (Life/Annuity) design, configuration, loading and values testing
- Consult with internal Product Analysts, Product Specialists and other internal clients to help them gain understanding of clients products and to cooperatively build test cases for User Acceptance Testing;
- Utilize and update (as necessary, including documentation) tool sets to both demonstrate system functionality and validate system values;
- Identify gaps between client requirements and the SE2 solution and proposing ideas to address these issues; if necessary, consulting with system vendors;
- Develop a detailed understanding of clients products and how those products will be integrated with SE2 solutions through interfacing with internal and external client resources;
- Act as a resource to Actuarial Interns in completing Run Mode requests for designated clients;
- Effectively communicate progress and timelines with project teams and management;
- Proven ability to work with other departments and meet aggressive objectives and timelines.
Experience required:
- Rich experience with Actuarial related activities.
- Rich experience working in the insurance field, and experience with one or more of the following : Fixed Annuities, Variable Annuities, Fixed Indexed Annuities, Traditional Life Insurance (Term Life, Whole Life),Universal Life, Variable Universal Life Insurance, Index Universal Life
- Strong understanding of actuarial principles and concepts
- Advanced experience of the Microsoft suite of products, especially Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of database management via SQL is a big plus.
- Complete understanding of the product life cycle
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business conditions
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently
